Jersey RFC has always been associated with Hampshire Rugby Union (HRU). It acquire four senior sides such as first XV plays in National 2 South League, second XV play in the Jersey Rugby Association League along with St Jacques and Guernsey 2nd XV as well as three other Jersey clubs such as Beeches Old Boys, United Banks, and Les Quennevais and the Youth XV play in the National Colts Cup. It is a place to play Siam Cup.

Birth

Jersey Rugby Football Club (Jersey R.F.C) was founded in the year 1961 at Jersey. The chairman of such club is Mike Engelman with its coach Ben Harvey. It is a rugby club in the National League 2 South and they have their base in Jersey. Recently they have only 2nd sitting 2 points from the first place, thus Ealing Trailfinders were able to beat them. Jersey R.F.C was able to with on a play-off at Twickenham. Numbers of fans are now coming to see how these islanders rise through the leagues. They are getting a growing number of fans coming to see the islanders as they rise through the leagues.

History

Since 1879, people of Jersey have started to play and like Rugby with breaks for war and Nazi jobs. When the club already have their permanent lands to live on which is located near the airport the modern era started. Jersey R.F.C’s original wooden clubhouse was constructed in 1964 and is located in the middle of Jersey Bowl Carpark. When tourists start visiting the island in 1970’s, Jersey tried asking several top clubs of rugby to have a game or match against Jersey R.F.C. These top clubs of rugby really have the capacity to combine a break from their normal match or game.

Modern Happening

As of this period in time the culmination of the centenary year in 1979 was very successful. There were teams which have international players who came over the island to play and feast for such even and JPR Williams are one of those people who came to have fun and celebration. Without doubt this decade helped the club gains so many plaques and memorabilia. Moreover, teams coming from the United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Australia and Holland did came to join the celebration.

In September 1994, the current clubhouse has opened. Indeed, Jersey RFC is fighting to be promoted to National League. However one problem that Jersey RFC is currently facing is the expensive cost when travelling. They rely much on the functions and sponsorship given by sponsors to support themselves as well as this commitment which is to be promoted to National League. Summer of 2010 Lord Jersey Stand was constructed in between the first XV pitch and Airport as well as the Pavilion with bars and kitchen located on the east of the main club facilities. With building it, Jersey can provide or give services or facilities for growing number of viewers. Indeed, Jersey has made its way to promote itself.
